Physiotherapist Sydney

Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy is beneficial for people who’ve had significant injuries, undergone surgery, or are living with orthopaedic or neurological conditions such as Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, or after a stroke.

Benefits of Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy contributes to the recovery after injuries, surgeries, and illnesses. It also enhances everyday life by helping, maintaining, and restoring movement and physical abilities. This is achieved through a range of methods including exercises, stretches, and focused practice.

Under the professional guidance of our physiotherapists, you can work on developing individualised approaches to stay involved in your everyday tasks and achieve the goals you’re aiming for, such as:

  • Improving strength
  • Improving joint range of motion
  • Improving mobility and balance
  • Improving confidence
  • Reducing pain and stiffness
  • Reducing the risk of future injuries

What's involved

To create a program just for you, your physiotherapist will work with you to understand your condition and what you want to achieve with your recovery. They’ll look at things like how you move in bed, how you sit, and how well you can stand and walk. Taking all of this into consideration along with your goals, they’ll create a plan that focuses on exercises to help you restore or improve your function. This plan may include:

Functional Practice: getting up from a chair and transferring from bed to a chair
Retraining of walking: which may include prescribing walking aids and orthoses
Balance analysis and treatment of balance disorders
Stairs retraining
Outdoor mobility practice
Treatment of spasticity
Pain Management
