Occupational Therapy Sydney

Occupational Therapy

If you face challenges in performing everyday tasks due to physical, psychological, neurological, or orthopedic conditions, occupational therapy can be of great assistance. It aims to enhance your ability to engage in daily activities, overcoming the limitations posed by these conditions.

Benefits of Occupational Therapy

The primary objective of occupational therapy is to optimise functional independence in various daily tasks. These tasks include personal care, household activities such as meal preparation, cleaning, laundry, and gardening, community mobility through private or public transportation, participation in leisure activities, and successful reintegration into work or education. Occupational therapy also addresses cognitive abilities such as memory, planning, and organisation to further support overall well-being.

Benefits include:

  • Increasing strength, endurance and overall independence in everyday tasks
  • Increasing range of movement and functionality of arms and hands
  • Prescribing equipment to make tasks easier
  • Recommending home modifications to ensure safe access to all areas of your home
  • Increasing your understanding of your condition and how to remain safely at home
  • Improving your ability to access the community, engage in social groups and return to work
  • Enhancing cognitive skills such as memory, attention and executive functioning
