Cycling to new heights
As a young adult Catherine sustained a traumatic brain injury. In 2016, through her NDIS plan, Catherine began cycling with Royal Rehab’s adaptive sport, recreation and leisure program. Since joining the program, Catherine has progressed from being pushed up steep hills to climbing hills unassisted and cycling across Sydney’s Anzac Bridge.
Catherine has purchased her own recumbent bike with adaptive setup and right-hand controls. Through Royal Rehab’s adaptive sport, recreation and leisure program, Catherine continues her cycling sessions twice a week and has made it her goal to cycle Sydney’s most iconic bridges.
Royal Rehab’s adaptive sport, recreation and leisure program offers one-on-one and group therapy sessions in a range of activities. From cycling and yoga, to gardening and rock climbing, snow sports and beach access – there’s something for everyone. Benefit from our experienced recreational therapist who can assist with getting the right adaptive equipment and return to the things that you love or discover new interests.
