    About the role..  

    The Quality, Safety and Risk Coordinator will be responsible for providing advanced strategic and operational support on Quality, Safety and Risk priorities throughout Royal Rehab. Reporting to the Executive Manager, Quality Safety and Risk, the role will provide support in undertaking, monitoring, and achieving key Clinical Governance priorities aimed at improving the operational efficiency, performance effectiveness, patient safety risk management, quality, and client experience.  

    The successful incumbent will work closely with local Managers and Quality, Safety and Risk Leads to ensure a collaborate approach in the development, implementation, and achievement of key deliverables.   

    The role requires a can-do attitude, strong customer service orientation, stakeholder rapport building exposure, experience with quality and safety systems and the ability to coordinate a diverse, high-volume workload with attention to detail.  

    Key responsibilities include: 

    • Assist in the development, implementation and evaluation of organisational quality, safety and risk priorities and other related matters.  
    • Ensure effective implementation and review of clinical governance systems and processes to collect, analyse, monitor and report on incident data to identify and proactively manage areas of risk and improvement opportunities.  
    • Provide expertise to implement the clinical governance framework including; incident management system, experience and feedback system, auditing and monitoring system, accreditation and quality improvement system and related patient safety activities and risk management system.  
    • Maintaining currency of system failure and human error methodology, contemporary clinical governance practice, changes to policies, regulations and legislative changes, especially in the area of clinical governance. 
    • Lead quality improvement through the development of a learning organisation, supporting improvement science and the dissemination of lessons learnt.  
    • Assist in the preparation of accreditation programs for all Services and Facility.  
    • Lead improvement programs that are aimed at enhancing the patient experience, improving safety culture and cultivating effective communication. 
    • Support Work Health and Safety Better Practice by identifying, assessing, mitigating and monitoring hazards and risks within the workplace. 



    About you..  

    You will be able to clearly demonstrate the following: 

    • Recognised qualification in a health-related field, or equivalent. 
    • Demonstrated understanding of patient safety and quality improvement with proven ability to support clinical governance processes.  
    • Knowledge of integrated risk management principles and experience in the concepts and processes of risk management and improvement. 
    • Excellent organisational skills and demonstrated ability to effectively manage time in order to prioritise competing demands  
    • Demonstrate high level oral and written communication, interpersonal and consultation skills with the ability to build strong working relationships with stakeholders 
    • Demonstrated ability to work under broad supervision and to effectively self-manage the day-to-day workflow of the position 
    • Demonstrated ability to provide strategic and issue specific advice at all service levels in relation to clinical governance systems, processes and issues. 
    • Criminal record check (essential) 
    • Working with children’s check 
    • Immunization status clearance (including COVID19 Certificate or proof of medical exemption)
