    About the role.. 

    This position is responsible for providing clerical support to the MetroRehab Day Program and Outpatient Clinic. In this role, you will carry out all administrative duties, including but not limited to typing, telephone communication, data entry, collation of clinical records, reporting, filing, photocopying, and managing client bookings.

    Key responsibilities include:

    • Reception duties and provision of customer service
    • Pre admitting, admitting, and discharging day program patients for appointments using electronic booking systems, eg MasterCare - Patient Administration System
    • Ability to complete and perform patient related financial activities, daily banking reconciliations. E.g. understanding Private hospital, Compensable billing, Health funds
    • Attend to patients, staff, relatives and other visitors in a prompt, courteous manner.
    • Develop protocols, signage, and other measures to present a positive image of the Unit, Hospital and environment.
    • Follow up private health, worker’s compensation, CTP, and other approvals
    • Maintain stationery and Unit supplies.
    • Book transport for Day Rehabilitation when required (e.g. DVA transport)



    About you.. 

    We seek a self-motivated and friendly individual who will bring energy to the role and be able to work proactively in a fast-paced environment. With strong customer focus you will play a key role in delivering a high quality of service to our patients.

    You will be able to clearly demonstrate the following:

    • Recent medical reception experience (essential)
    • Health fund, HICAPS and Medicare knowledge and experience (essential)
    • Experience working in private health (desirable)
    • Exceptional level of organisational skills and the ability to multitask
    • High level of attention to detail with sound experience with Microsoft suite
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and telephone manner
    • Strong customer service skills and patient focus
    • Ability to flexible and adapt work practice as needed
    • Strong computer literacy and word processing skills with a focus on data integrity
    • Criminal record check (essential)
    • Working with children’s check
    • Immunization status clearance (including COVID19 Certificate or proof of medical exemption)
